Gifted & Talented Program
The Gifted and Talented (G/T) program provides additional academic challenges for students who demonstrate advanced abilities or the potential for high achievement. Through engaging instruction and project-based learning, students develop skills in critical thinking, creative problem-solving, research, communication, and independent learning.
Dallas ISD students may be referred for G/T screening by a teacher, counselor, administrator, parent, community member, peer, or through self-nomination. Students are screened and selected through the district’s identification process and the campus G/T Placement Committee.
In elementary grades, identified students receive specialized instruction designed to deepen their learning across reading and language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Middle school students may receive G/T services through advanced academic coursework and other enrichment opportunities.
Families interested in learning more about identification, testing, or services available at Hotchkiss should contact the school.
